Built for the new coding loop

AI Agents changed what mobile coding means.

You no longer need to type every line of code on a phone. You need to steer the agent, check terminal state, send prompts, run tests, and recover context. Redock is designed around that loop.

TUI

Agent terminal sessions fit the mobile screen.

One Tap

Resume agent sessions, tmux work, or saved checks.

Voice

Speak longer prompts, review them, then send.

Core value

Built around Agent TUI work.

Redock adds mobile controls around the terminal: staged prompts, snippets, command modes, recovery, and history.

Connect to your dev machine

Use SSH or Mosh to bring your Mac, Linux host development environment into Redock.

Keep context close

Open a familiar working directory with the commands and snippets you use repeatedly.

Run the right command

Start interactive TUI sessions, fire quick checks, or send longer work to tmux.

Return to active work

Live sessions, quick outputs, and background logs stay easy to find when you come back.

Workflow

From couch check-in to real project action.

01

Connect your host

Start on the same Wi-Fi, then use Tailscale, ngrok, or a hardened public server when you need remote access away from home.

02

Open a project

Pin the host and working directory, then keep project specific actions and snippets near the terminal.

03

Start the agent

Launch Codex, Claude Code, OpenCode, shell scripts, tests, or deploy tasks from saved actions.

04

Resume without rebuilding context

Activity and tmux entry points bring you back to the right connection or long task after the phone disconnects.

Agent terminal

A terminal tuned for Coding Agents on mobile.

Redock keeps the terminal as the primary surface, then adds mobile-first input and recovery paths around it.

  • Staged input lets you compose a whole prompt before sending it to the shell or TUI.
  • Speech transcription turns longer agent instructions into editable terminal input.
  • CJK input, copy, paste, scroll, and conversation history gestures are treated as core terminal requirements.
  • Snippets cover common agent, tmux commands without forcing you to type them character by character.
  • Multiple connections on the same host remain separate so a shell and tmux session do not collapse into one state.

Beyond a raw shell

SSH connects the phone. Redock organizes the development loop.

Projects, Actions, an agent-tuned terminal, and tmux turn remote access into a mobile workbench for coding agents.

Structured workspace

  • Projects bind a Host, working directory, snippets, and recent activity into one context
  • Actions turn agent launches, tests, deploys and scripts into tap-ready tasks
  • Less command retyping and less manual context rebuilding on a phone

Agent TUI terminal

  • The TUI sessions used by agents like Claude Code, Codex, and OpenCode get mobile-friendly gestures and layout
  • Conversation history, copy, paste, scroll, and CJK input are treated as core terminal flows
  • Staged input, speech transcription, and snippets let prompts be composed before sending

tmux-native continuity

  • Create or attach tmux sessions from the workflow without memorizing tmux commands
  • Run agents, builds, tests, and background tasks so they survive phone disconnects
  • Return directly to the right session or log when you come back

Setup guide

Start locally, then make it portable.

The recommended first setup is simple: enable Remote Login on your Mac, keep your iPhone and Mac on the same Wi-Fi, discover the device in Redock, and connect with SSH. After that works, add Tailscale or another network path for outdoor access.

Same Wi-Fi

Fastest first run. Use local discovery or a 192.168.x.x address with port 22.

Tailscale

Recommended for daily use across networks without exposing SSH publicly.

ngrok TCP

Useful for temporary access when you need a public TCP tunnel to a local machine.

VPS / public host

Works well with SSH keys, restricted users, and a hardened server setup.

User stories

What Redock is for.

Check an agent from the train

Open Activity, resume the existing tmux session, read what the agent did, then send one correction without opening a laptop.

Run a quick verification

Tap a saved action for git status, tests, or a health check. The output becomes a Run record instead of a disposable terminal scrollback.

Dictate a long prompt

Record a technical instruction, edit the transcript in staged input, and send it to the coding agent when it is ready.
