herdr is a persistent terminal workspace manager built around coding agents. Redock runs it on the remote Host and carries the terminal stream over SSH.
Use it on Linux or macOS when you want named, reconnectable workspaces with agent-aware status. SSH must already work; herdr must be on the remote PATH.
Install
curl -fsSL https://herdr.dev/install.sh | sh
Enable in Redock
- Edit the Host.
- Session persistence → herdr.
- Save and open a new connection.
Redock lists named sessions and creates one per Host / Project / Action entry. Reconnect returns to the same session when possible.
In Terminal, open the snippet panel → herdr for quick actions such as sidebar, tabs, panes, and detach.
Native Workspace Management
Tap the herdr sheep icon to the left of the Chat View button to browse and manage your workspace in a spacious panel, without navigating the terminal sidebar.
- Find your next task: Browse Space → Tab → Pane, or search names and working directories in the Agents list.
- Switch with a tap: Select a Pane / Agent row to jump to its terminal and move between tasks with ease.
- Manage in one place: Create Spaces and Tabs, split panes right or down, rename, and close. Leave a new name blank to let herdr name it for you.
Swipe left or right with one finger in the terminal to switch. Start away from the screen edges.
Touch and Pointer Gestures
- Double-tap opens herdr's right-click menu.
- Pinch changes the terminal font size.
- A connected mouse or trackpad can use its normal secondary click.
